Browser Extension: Share Any Page to Your Queue

Updated · Multi Post Social guide

The Multi Post Social browser extension puts the composer one click away from any page you read. Share an article with its image, a quote you selected, or a picture you right-clicked, pick the channels and a time, and the post joins your queue without opening a new tab. It also saves ideas to the Create board for later. This page explains what it does, which browsers it supports, the permissions it asks for and how to fix the usual problems.

What the extension does

Most posts start with something you saw: a report, a customer story, a photo, a line worth quoting. The extension catches that moment. Click the icon in the toolbar and a compact composer opens over the page with the title, the link and the page image already filled in. Select text first and the selection becomes the quote. Right-click any image and choose Share to Multi Post Social to start a post with that image. The composer offers the same four actions as the full product: add to queue, schedule, share now or save as draft, and the same per-network tabs with character counts.

  • Share the current page with its title, link and preview image.
  • Share selected text as a quote with the link attached.
  • Share any image on a page by right-clicking it.
  • Save the page as an idea on the Create board instead of posting.
  • Pick channels, customize per network, add a first comment and choose a time.
  • See the next free slots for each channel before you add to the queue.

Everything the extension creates appears at once in the scheduler and the calendar inside Multi Post Social, so a post started in the browser can be finished on your phone.

How to install and sign in

  1. Open the extension listing for your browser. The store listings are being prepared; until then the buttons below lead to the sign-up page so you can get the account ready.
  2. Click Add to browser and accept the permissions listed in the next section.
  3. Click the new icon in the toolbar and sign in with your Multi Post Social account. If you use two-factor authentication, enter the code.
  4. Pin the icon so it stays visible, and set a keyboard shortcut in your browser’s extension settings if you share often.

Permissions and why

Browsers show a list of permissions when you install an extension, and the wording can sound alarming. Here is what each one is for and what it is not used for.

Permissions the extension requests
PermissionWhy it is neededWhat it is not used for
Read the current tab when you click the iconTo fill in the title, link, selected text and page image of the page you chose to shareReading pages you did not click on; browsing history
Context menusTo add Share to Multi Post Social when you right-click an image or a selectionNothing else

Privacy

The extension sends data only when you press a button: the post text, the link, the image you chose and the channels. It does not record the pages you visit, does not read pages in the background and does not sell or share data with advertisers. Sign-in uses the same session rules as the web app, and you can sign out from the extension or from Settings in the product. The privacy policy and the security guide describe data handling for the whole service.

Troubleshooting

  • The icon does nothing on a page. Some pages block extensions, such as browser settings pages and store pages. Try a normal website.
  • No image is filled in. The page has no preview image set. Right-click an image on the page and share that instead.
  • Signed out again. Clearing cookies signs out the extension. Sign in again; two-factor codes are required each time.
  • A channel is missing. The channel is paused or needs a reconnect. Open Channels in the product and fix it there.
  • The post did not appear in the queue. Check the Drafts filter; if you pressed Save draft it is there. Otherwise read the customer care guide.

Safe use of shared content

Sharing a page is easy; owning what you share is still your job. Credit the source, do not post images you have no right to use, and quote accurately. The acceptable use policy applies to posts from the extension exactly as it does in the full composer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the browser extension free?

Yes. It is included on every plan, including the free plan, and uses the same channel and post limits as your account.

Can I schedule a post from the extension?

Yes. The compact composer has add to queue, schedule, share now and save draft, with per-network tabs and the next free slots for each channel.

Does the extension read my browsing?

No. It reads the current page only when you click the icon or use the right-click menu, and it sends data only when you press a button.

Is there a mobile version?

Phones use the mobile app instead, which adds Multi Post Social to the system share sheet, so you can share from any app.
